



Who is Marlena Marie?
Marlena Marie was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. She has a BSBA in Operations Management and a BA in Theater from The Ohio State University. She has a MLitt in Creative Writing from The University of Glasgow. She currently works as the Editor of Exhibit City News, a publication dedicated to tradeshows.
She has been published in a variety of zines including: Space Lime Zine, Orange Peel Poetry zine, and Morii zine. She currently resides in the United States.
Marlena loves most genres reading, but prefers books within the Fantasy and Sci-fi Genre. Her favorite books are Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass and What Alice Found There and JD Salinger’s Catcher in the Rye. e.e. cumming’s “anyone lived in a pretty how town” remains her favorite poem.
Marlena Marie loves foxes, wolves, sparrows, and hummingbirds. Her favorite color is periwinkle. She has a massive hat collection (not as large as her book collection, but formidable.) She also loves sewing.
I often say “words come alive the moment we let them exist.” For the words we say to others, and the words we write out, have a profound impact on those we intend them for and those we never thought would experience them.

When I think of writing I think of magic.
Magic allows the impossible to happen, a writer builds worlds.
